Planning

SCE have been involved with QCA in a wide debate about how the curriculum might need to evolve to better prepare young people for life and work in the 21st Century. Much needs to be done to promote curriculum innovation and help to create a climate in which schools have the confidence to shape the curriculum to their own needs.

Schools focus upon the need to teach well and develop a more creative use of the whole curriculum in order to give pupils the opportunity to learn in ways that maximize their chances of success.

Materials are being developed alongside schools, to promote the curriculum conversation – this conversation clarifies their vision about what they are trying to achieve through the curriculum and the implications for that for curriculum design and the measurement of any impact resulting from change.
