Information and Communication Technology is a statutory requirement for all children once they begin primary education. It continues throughout their school life and develops a range of skills, knowledge and understanding of ICT in the modern world.
All SCE schools teach ICT in line with national curriculum for England guidelines, however this is constantly changing as new technologies become more readily available to schools and students.
All SCE schools are excellently resourced to teach ICT as a discrete subject as well as using the technology as a tool to enhance learning both in and beyond the classroom. All students have at least one ICT lesson per week in Key Stage 3 and the option to study ICT to gain a recognised qualification before leaving school.
SCE secondary and middle schools are incredibly well resourced. All classrooms have a data projector and interactive whiteboard and a number of ICT suites which are available to all students.
